Answer

Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 249F allows members with at least 5% of the votes that may be cast at a general meeting of the company to call, and arrange to hold, a general meeting. The members calling the meeting must pay the expenses of calling and holding it. The meeting must be called, so far as possible, in the same way in which general meetings of the company may be called, and the voting percentage is worked out as at midnight before the meeting is called. Official source checked: Federal Register of Legislation, Corporations Act 2001 current text, s 249F. Dogfood note: Source search for s 249F did not surface a native Corporations Act s 249F row; it returned adjacent proposed Corporations topics and unrelated CCA rows.
